inaugural adult Tricycle Race is OPEN

About:

At the invitation of the Southington Apple Harvest Festival Committee, United Way of Southington is thrilled to host our first-ever Adult Tricycle Race! This hilarious, high-energy Peer-to-Peer Fundraiser will bring out your competitive spirit, your creativity, and your inner child - all for a great cause. 

The basics:

• Up to to 10 teams of four (ages 18+) will face off in a a relay-style tricycle race up and down Main Street during the first hour of the Apple Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 3. 
• The fundraising minimum is $500 per team ($300 for the trike plus a $200 donation) and must be raised by Friday, September 12.
• All team pages must be created by Friday, August 1. Click the green button below to get started. 
• Teams that raise $1000+ by Friday, August 15 and/or $1500+ by Friday, August 29, will receive a “head start advantage” in the first heat (if the team meets both deadlines, they will receive a double head start).
• The team who raises the MOST by RACE DAY, October 3 at 9am, will receive a generous head start. This is a fundraiser so we encourage teams to raise as much as they can!
• Reserve your spot by creating an online team page using the link below and making a $300 donation.  This donation will cover the cost of the team’s tricycle, which you can keep following the race.
• Each team’s fundraising page allows donations to be secured from their networks to reach the registration fee (and beyond if you’d like a head start at the race).  The final registration fee ($500 total) is due by Friday, September 26. Remember, spots are limited!
• United Way of Southington will provide each Team Captain with their very own trike on Saturday, September 20. You keep the trikes following the race!
• Decorations and costumes are encouraged! Bring your friends, bring your cheers, and bring your A-game.

And of course—what’s a race without prizes?! An assortment of prizes will be available for:

1. Fastest Team
2. Highest Team Fundraiser
3. Highest Individual Fundraiser
4. Best Patriotically Decorated Trike - We're celebrating America 250!
5. Most Fans (judged by loudest cheering squad!)

Form a Team

Instructions

1. Pick one person from your team to be Captain.
2. Captain, click the green "Form a Team" button above.
3. On the next page, click "Create a Team."
4. Register yourself in the event system.
5. Verify your registration via your email.
6. Back on the United We Ride page, click "Donate Now" and pay your $300 registration fee, which covers the cost of your trike to secure your spot. (The remaining $200 must be raised by September 12 in order to participate on Race Day).
7. Invite your teammates.
8. Customize your Fundraising Page.
9. Share with everyone you know!
