SOUTHINGTON, CT — A beloved member of the Southington community and longtime public servant received a significant honor Friday from a prominent charitable organization.
The United Way of Southington announced Friday that its 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to lifelong resident the Rev. Victoria Triano, who also retired as Southington Town Council chairperson in 2023.
A past president and board member of United Way of Southington, Triano has devoted decades of service to our community as a pastor, elected official, and tireless volunteer for countless civic and nonprofit organizations, the United Way said in a statement.
Triano also helped establish transformative initiatives such as STEPS and the Southington National Day of Prayer.
"Her extraordinary commitment has been recognized by many, including the distinction of having May 17, 2007, proclaimed “Rev. Victoria Triano Day,” wrote the United Way.
Triano continues to dedicate her energy to Southington, serving on boards, associations, and commissions that support seniors, children, veterans, and even animals, according to the United Way.
Triano will be honored at the United Way's "Unsung Heroes – United in Action"event on Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville.
